Buyers Prompted by Abu Dhabi to Restart Oil Loading via Gulf Ports

by admin477351

Amid easing tensions in the Persian Gulf due to a recent US-Iran agreement, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has directed its clients to restart the loading of crude oil from its facilities on Das and Zirku islands. This decision reflects the improved conditions and the anticipated continuity of maritime trade through the crucial Strait of Hormuz, marking a step towards normalcy in the region’s oil exports.

ADNOC has confirmed that crude oil has been available for loading since April 27 and has cautioned that any delay in collecting scheduled shipments might constitute a breach of contract. To assist buyers facing logistical challenges, the company has offered support through its own or associated tanker fleet, aiming to facilitate smooth operations after recent disruptions.

As one of the most active exporters in the area, ADNOC has already successfully moved tens of millions of barrels through tenders. This resumption of activities is part of broader efforts by Gulf oil producers to stabilize export operations, which had been affected by regional tensions.

In a bid to further secure its export capabilities, the United Arab Emirates is working on expanding alternative routes that minimize dependence on the Strait of Hormuz. Efforts are underway to enhance infrastructure, including increasing pipeline capacity to the Fujairah port on the Gulf of Oman, which would allow more crude to be exported without transiting the strategic waterway.
